What Children Can Do

* DO NOT ALLOW CPS SOCIAL WORKERS INTO YOUR HOME IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A "SEARCH WARRANT!" This is federal law according to case law, Calabretta vs. Sacramento Department of Social Services, (1995-96)
* Honor Your Mother and Father (even if you hate them, we all go through it!)
* Don't yell or fight with your parent or parent's.
* Don't tell lies about anybody, it's better to be honest in the long run.
* Don't fight with other children.
* Don't yell, scream, or fist fight with your parent or teacher.
* Don't fight with the police officer if they detain you. Stay calm. Tell them you want your parent's present with you while they ask you questions or your parent's attorney present, before you answer any of their interrogating questions. Today, children have access to their cell phones, text messaging, etc., so I always suggest they take these electronic gadgets with them when they go out at night or during the day time for added personal security.
* Don't talk to strangers. If you have to report one of your parent's for abuse you can call the police or child abuse hotline and tell them what is going on.
* Don't give any strangers any personal information (this means someone you have never seen before and that doesn't look familiar), while your walking or running.
* Don't give out any personal information over the internet like your home address or telephone number etc.!
* Don't give out any information about your personal family life and what goes on in your home unless your parent or parent's are present with you so they can hear what you are saying to someone else. Stories have a way of getting misconstrued.
* Don't give out any family information to anyone! Just because someone asks you a personal question about your family life or about you doesn't mean you have to answer that persons questions. You have a right to remain silent. You don't have to talk to anyone even if "they" threaten you. Sometimes, if you say the wrong thing it could mean life or death to you and your family!
* Don't get into any vehicle if you do not know the person even if they tell you that your mother or father told them to pick you up from school or college and even if they have personal information about you or your family. Don't do it!
* Do buy a cell phone with a camera and carry it with you at all times for safety.
