What Parents Can Do

* DO NOT ALLOW CPS SOCIAL WORKERS INTO YOUR HOME IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A "SEARCH WARRANT!" This is federal law according to case law, Calabretta vs. Sacramento Department of Social Services, (1995-96)
* If you allow these "CPS" social workers into your home these days it would be wise to have a tape recorder, camera, digital camera, or cell phone camera handy so that you and your family can document what they say and catch their actions on camera or take notes with a pen and tablet and write down everything they do to you and your child or children.
* Parent's today need to educate and teach their children that if they are taken away by any person, social worker, etc., that they have a RIGHT to have their parent's and or their attorney present before they have to answer any of these peoples questions! This is highly serious and will be a matter of life and death to that family, depending on the circumstances.
* Do tell your child or children NOT to talk to any person, social worker, teacher, police officer, doctor, or anyone else for that matter unless their parent YOU or YOUR attorney is present with them! They can be taught at an early age to do this. This is your child's or children's right to have their parent and or attorney present while they are being interrogated or questioned about anything or anyone. Stories have a way of being misinterpreted by EVERYONE that is involved!
* Teach your children to have respect for other children that are less fortunate.
* Teach your children to be non-violent! People don't like bullies, period.
* Talk to your child or children and keep the lines of communication open and know who their friends are and who they are with at all times.
* Don't tell lies to your children and be honest when talking to them.
* Don't yell, scream, or shout at your child or children.
* Don't leave your child or children in the vehicle without an adult in the car.
* Don't spank or discipline your child in the grocery store, library, church, or any public place because some people might construe this as a form of child abuse when in fact it is not. Under California law, spanking a child on the buttocks area is allowed for the discipline of a child.
* Don't use corporal punishment on your children! Corporal punishment is against the law these days. Your child or children will be taken away from your control and custody if you use corporal punishment.
* Don't leave your child or children to run around freely in public places!
* Don't leave your child or children alone in any grocery store, library, or public place, ever! Today, young women may drop off their baby if they want to give the baby up for adoption, etc., at their local fire department station. Apparently, you don't have to give your name but I don't trust this new trend and don't suggest it.
* Don't leave your child or children alone in any public transportation area.
* Don't touch any other parent's child or children without their permission.
